Cold War Era (1945-1990) and Post Cold War (1990- Now)

The different between Cold war and post cold war

War?war?war?..i'm sure all of you are not interested to know the history of war in the world...This is because, when we talk about war, it is boring to listen, and we need more knowledge to understand the situation of war....am i right?...but, if u read about war, it also give lesson to us either it term of politics, economy , social and so on.

Ok friends, back to the question that we discuss last week, there are some  element that different between cold war and  current international relation.

The main difference between cold war and post cold war is power. As we know, during cold war happen, it use bipolar system. Bipolar system is  start form 1945 until 1989. Bipolarity  mean  distribution of power in which two states have the majority of economic, military, and cultural influence internationally or regionally and so on.  For instance, most Western and capitalist states would fall under the influence of the USA, while most Communist states would fall under the influence of the USSR. But, the current now, we use  unipolar system to describe the power structure when one superpower dominates alone. This system is start form 1989 until present. The end of the Cold War meant that the previous decades’ superpower rivalry now had ended. There was no longer the “traditional” East vs. West conflict. When this system is establish, so it will show the new political  situation will happen.

Besides that, the second difference between cold war and post cold war in term of economics.  USA became the global consumer of the last resort for the export goods of first Germany and Japan. This is because USA want to help redevelop the economic destroyed by the war and to keep workers in those countries from being attracted to the promises of communism. While after cold war ended in 1991, the economy is more to globalization. It mean, new hubs of economic growth are emerging in the world. The economy system nowadays is more stable because most countries achieve their GDP well.

Enjoy my view..:)

  1. regarding unipolar power, Nowadays I think, China is the only country with enough power to challenge the current system which is US..
Do you think, the system can be shifted from unipolarity to bipolarity due to competition between China and US...
